The apostle Paul wrote that faith comes from hearing the message of Jesus Christ. The prophet Isaiah compared God's Word to rain and snow which water the ground. Jesus Himself said that God's Word is like seed which brings forth new life from the thing it is planted in.

Bethany Lutheran Church exists to preach and teach the life-giving Gospel of Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ born for you, lived, died, rose, and ascended for you. Not only is the Gospel where faith comes from but it is where the life of faith (i.e. "Christian life") comes from.

(John 3:6 "That which is born of flesh is flesh but that which is born of Spirit is sprit."

Galatians 5:22–23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.")

Again, the Gospel is the truth that in Jesus Christ, God the Son came to this earth, has lived perfectly for us, was punished and died as we deserved to have been, but nevertheless has risen from that death to bring forgiveness and eternal life to all.
